La performance art è il luogo dove convergono tutte le suggestioni di alcuni miei lavori, che partono con l’utilizzo di altri media e che poi esprimono l’urgenza di un azione. Qualche volta l’azione è stata corale, ha coinvolto il pubblico presente in diversi modi. In “answer” a Berlino mentre parlavo al muro spaccai una bottiglia di vetro e i cocci finirono tra i presenti, in “Lucerne” chiesi esplicitamente un coinvolgimento attivo dei presenti che parteciparono al rito collettivo facendomi bruciare i loro biglietti, in “Doll” a Belgrado furono le persone stesse a creare la performance con i loro intimi racconti.
Ieri sera ad Aversa “Oro Obrizo” è stata un azione così intima, intensa, fisicamente stancante e pregna di energia che mi sono commossa.
Tutte le opere di questa mostra insieme alla mia amica e socia Mary, ho detto più volte che si sono fatte da sole. Il materiale per le sculture mi è stato donato, dalla terra e dalle persone. Il video si è imposto nonostante io abbia cercato di dargli un taglio diverso, è emerso un linguaggio tutto al femminile, con i corpi di tre donne, tre età, la farina, l’oro, l’impasto. Qualcuno ha parlato dell’archetipo della Dea Madre che plasma la materiale primordiale, io mi sono sorpresa ancora una volta di quanto l’essermi fatta strumento di creazione libera abbia fatto in modo che ne venisse fuori una serie di opere dal significato quasi universale, senza bisogno di spiegazioni.
Le spiegazioni sono arrivate dai presenti. Quegli spettatori silenziosi dietro la balconata da cui mi separava qualche metro di distanza. Una donna ha chiesto la parola e mi ha sommersa con la sua visione simbolica di quello che avevo fatto nella mia performance solitaria, scusandosi più volte del suo intervento mi ha detto quanta storia ha visto nei miei gesti affaticati e rabbiosi mentre impastavo, quanto corpo e sapienza nel mettere insieme gli elementi che creano il “pane che sfama i nostri cari”. E lì mentre ascoltavo, mi si son bagnate le guance, i miei figli non c’erano e quella donna non poteva sapere chi avessi io da “sfamare” con tanta foga, come io qualche giorno prima non potevo sapere che il luogo dove avrei fatto la performance ha ospitato un granaio per secoli.
E dunque cosa siamo, artisti e spettatori, siamo Dea Madre e siamo umani affaccendati e stanchi che si mettono a riposare come il pane che deve lievitare.
E’ questo ciò che ieri era presente, e me lo stringo al petto con immensa gratitudine.
